Tango
Tango was born at the end of the 19th century in Buenos Aires and developed into a vibrant tradition in constant motion. Composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgán and Aníbal Troilo reveal how the genre blends its popular roots with an increasingly refined musical language. With Tango Nuevo, Piazzolla gave the genre a decisive new impulse, incorporating influences from jazz and classical music.
