Opening concert veelbeLEUVENd

Mozart en Beethoven

Sun 28/09/2025 - 15:00

After the huge success of the previous seasons, it’s time for a new musical adventure! The young professionals of much-beLEUVENd swap the Minnepoort for the elegant Schouwburg where they convey the magic of symphonic music in an intimate chamber music setting.

Much-beLEUVENd kicks off the new season with a creation by Jonas Gedeshi, specially written for this ensemble.

Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos, in which the soloists constantly challenge and complement each other, is renowned for its liveliness. The 'orchestra' provides delicate support, giving the piece a perfect balance of collaboration and virtuosity.

Beethoven's iconic Fifth Symphony symbolizes struggle, determination and victory. The heroic themes make it an indisputable masterpiece. José Reyes has given it a new look and brings the great symphonic sound to life in a more transparent form. Without conductor, a fresh energy is created that connects not only the players but also the audience. A unique experience! It promises to be a magical concert for both performers and audience.

Programme

  • Jonas Gedeshi, premiere, commissioned by much-beLEUVENd
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Concerto for 2 pianos no. 10, KV. 365
  • Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony No. 5 (arr. José Reyes)
