A new production by Zonzo Compagnie about the creative universe of English Baroque composer Henry Purcell. With visuals by video artist Nele Fack who is well-known for the KNAL opening weekend in October 2021.

Via a miniature version of an old theatre, we explore the world of Henry Purcell. While Henry is watching the spectacle as a ghost, a singer opens the gates to the imagination. She carries you along in dream visions of masks created by Purcell for the theatre. We hear the echo of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest. King Arthur also makes his appearance and Queen Mary's music can be heard, until HUSH resounds and we are cloaked in silence.

An accordionist and a lute player do justice to Purcell’s music through unique arrangements. With melodies and chords, they guide you through the Baroque landscape of this 17th-century composer. To interpret Henry’s magical universe, a Belgian-Canadian team creates a wonderful multimedia experience.

Zonzo Compagnie has toured the world with a series of performances which immerse you in the creative universe of a remarkable composer. They have already performed works by Bach, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Luciano Berio and John Cage. English Baroque composer Henry Purcell is next in line.
