Flâneurs

Flâneurs is an ode to human resistance, facing a world that is moving too fast. A circus piece inspired by the importance of daily life, the greatness of simple actions, and the little wonders of each day. The beauty of simplicity, the brightness of pause, the warmth of an encounter. A place to discover the world and others without haste. A place to become aware of the value of every moment . Two human beings, some inner tubes. A simple object as scenography, support of representation. From a carapace to immensity of a territory.
Symbols that evoque the journey, the road and its circular strength which is almost infinite but yet human.

Yerko Castillo and Denisse Mena began to play circus in Chile, where they grew up. They lead a professional career there, performed in different creations and participate in transdisciplinary and intercultural exchanges. In 2015, they participated with young emerging artists from South America and Europe in the “Antipodes” project led by Gaëtan Levêque and Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde. In order to complete their training, they left Chile in 2017 and settled in France, where they joined the Regional Center for Circus Arts in Lille-Lomme. In particular, they have specialized in partner acrobatics.

  "I met Denisse and Yerko five years ago at my school CRAC Lomme (Regional Center Des Arts Du Cirque). Like me, they are specialized in partner acrobatics. I really admire them, because they are very good both technically and artistically. Flâneurs is their first creation and I am very curious to see what it will bring!"
