Côté Jardin, 30CC's cultural family afternoon outside, in the nature, is coming to Abdij van Vlierbeek this spring. Come and discover all the nooks and crannies of the abbey during talks and workshops, a photo quest, barefoot path ... with Chiro Vlierbeek you can come and play.

Opening concert 13.00 pm

  • The inaugural orchestra of the Koninklijke Harmonie Volharding Kessel-Lo officially opens the afternoon - lawn in front of Vlierbeek Hall - 20 min.

Final sing-along at 4.30 pm

  • Pieter Putzeys & the kids of Abdijschool Vlierbeek - lawn in front of Nieuw Abtskwartier - 20 min

    Pieter Putzeys is a teacher at the Abdijschool and a songwriter. Especially for Côté Jardin he wrote a song with nature as common thread. Together with some children from Abdijschool, he will perform this song and everyone is invited to sing along.

    Learn to make your own fire with a firesteel and break the rope burnout record of the day.

    Workshop ceramics
    'playing with clay' - ceramist Yo Vandevenne - 5 years and up - 60 min - 13.30 + 14.30 - meet at the infopoint - max. 6p
    In this workshop, you learn to make your own toys with clay: a marble track and marble games, finger puppets, a potato oven, your own herb garden, a doll's cooker with which you can really cook and much more.

    Yo Vandevenne is an artist, sculptor and ceramist. She studied ceramics and sculpture at SLAC. She exhibits regularly and has been giving workshops in ceramics at home and abroad since 1990. She was and is a teacher at Wisper, trainingplus, cultural centres and in her own studio.
